First-Year Students of the USUCT SEI at USUST Begin Their Student Journey

On August 31, 2026, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies hosted the solemn Freshers’ Initiation Ceremony. A new generation of students officially joined the university community, including first-year students of the Educational and Research Institute “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology.”

The first-year students were congratulated by USUST Rector, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi, who wished the students success in their studies and emphasized the opportunities offered by university education.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of symbolic student ID cards to the first-year students. From this moment, a new stage begins for them, filled with learning, professional discoveries, new acquaintances, and opportunities for personal and professional development.

The ceremony also featured a creative component. The festive program included students from USUST’s educational and research institutes, who demonstrated that university life is not limited to lectures and practical classes, but also encompasses art, creativity, and self-realization. Students of the USUCT SEI also showcased their talents.

Traditionally, the ceremony was joined by the master’s student Uduntikus and representatives of the student self-government. The first-year students took part in the symbolic water initiation ceremony, as well as the university tradition of filling the “USUST Heart” with multicolored sand — a symbol of the dreams, aspirations, and energy of the new generation of students.

For the first-year students of the USUCT SEI, this day marked the beginning of a new stage. Ahead of them are their first lectures and laboratory classes, meeting their lecturers and fellow students, gaining new knowledge, making professional discoveries, and achieving their first student successes.
