On May 22, 2025, students and teachers of the Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety of the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences of the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology visited the Laboratory of Breeding Methods and Primary Seed Production of the State Institution “Institute of Grain Crops” of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (SI IZK NAAS).

The Director of the Institute, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Academician of the NAAS Vladyslav CHERCHEL acquainted the students with innovative scientific developments, the structure of the departments and the main areas of activity of the institution.

Senior Researcher of the Laboratory, Candidate of Biological Sciences Kateryna DENYSYUK demonstrated the material and technical base of the department. She spoke about modern directions of biotechnological support of the corn breeding process, including molecular genetic and cell engineering technologies.

Students were introduced to the practical aspects of implementing marker-associated breeding and DNA analysis. As part of the practical part, they participated in visualization of isolated corn DNA by electrophoresis.
