Dnipro schoolchildren at the SEI USUCT joined laboratory research on renewable energy

As part of the implementation of the educational and environmental project “GREEN-ED. GREEN EDUCATION OF DNIPRO”, the laboratory workshop “Renewable Energy Sources as the Key to an Ecological Future” was held on May 1, 2026, at the SEI “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology”.

Students of Dnipro Gymnasium No. 24 and Dnipro Gymnasium No. 45 of the Dnipro City Council took part in the event. The school students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern approaches to research in the field of energy and try themselves in the role of future engineers.

The workshop was conducted by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Energy Yaroslav Kozlov. During the session, participants studied the features of using renewable energy sources, in particular solar and wind energy, and worked with equipment for measuring their potential. In particular, they investigated the characteristics of solar collectors, photovoltaic cells, and wind power installations.

Special attention was paid to practical calculations: students determined the efficiency of energy systems and evaluated their payback periods. This approach made it possible not only to understand the operating principles of modern technologies, but also to develop basic engineering analysis skills.

Participants also became acquainted with modern energy storage systems and laboratory equipment used to improve the efficiency of energy solutions. Particular interest was generated by the possibilities of applying 3D modeling and 3D printing in the energy sector as tools for optimizing technical processes.

Conducting such practical classes contributes to the popularization of engineering specialties among young people, the development of environmental awareness, and increased understanding of modern challenges and solutions in the fields of energy conservation and renewable energy.
