Defences of Master’s Theses in the ‘Computer Science’ Programme
From 6 to 8 January 2026, the Department of Information Systems of the SEI ‘USUCT’, USUST successfully conducted the defences of Master’s theses in ‘Computer Science’.
Prior to the online defences, thorough preparatory work was carried out. Students consulted with their supervisors, completed pre-defence reviews, ensured their theses complied with academic standards, and prepared the required documentation for the work of the examination committee. As a result, the public online defences of the Master’s theses were conducted at a high professional level.
The Examination Committee included the following members approved by a University Order:
Chair of the Examination Committee:
- Svitlana Us, Professor of the Department of Systems Analysis and Management, Dnipro University of Technology, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor.
Members of the Examination Committee:
- Nataliia Solodka, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Systems, SEI ‘USUCT’, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Deputy Chair of the Examination Committee
- Dmytro Zelentsov, Professor of the Department of Information Systems, SEI ‘USUCT’, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor
- Nataliia Naumenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Systems, SEI ‘USUCT’, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor
- Larysa Korotka, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Systems, SEI ‘USUCT’, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor
Secretary of the Examination Committee:
- Tetiana Kulikova, operator of the Department of Information Systems, SEI ‘USUCT’.
The results of the graduates’ theses were actively disseminated within the academic community. In particular, the research papers of Dmytro Klevzhyts and Ruslan Kabak were published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The majority of Master’s students also presented their results at international scientific conferences.
Based on their diploma projects, Dmytro Klevzhyts and Ruslan Kabak were awarded certificates of copyright registration for computer software.
The results of the comprehensive research completed by Dmytro Klevzhyts and Danylo Shvydkyi, as well as the project of Vlad Semenov, were presented at the first round of the All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Research Papers in Artificial Intelligence.
Furthermore, the results of Dmytro Klevzhyts’s research were presented at the final round of the International Competition of Student Research Papers in Artificial Intelligence.
This year, the Department takes particular pride in the graduates who received Master’s diplomas with honours: Dmytro Klevzhyts, Danylo Shvydkyi, Pavlo Ivasenko, Anton Horiainov, and Vlad Semenov.
The topics of the Master’s theses covered a wide range of issues, including data processing and protection, automation of business processes and educational systems, artificial intelligence, optimization and modelling, as well as the development of microservice-based and web platforms.
Among the presented works, there were studies on the integration of streaming and batch data processing in corporate data warehouses, comparative analyses of methods for detecting sensitive information, intelligent systems aimed at improving the accessibility of video communication through sign language recognition, automated generation of game environments, as well as the development of microservice-based information systems for publishing financial reports.
Particular attention was drawn to the theses related to the application of artificial intelligence, including automated content moderation, the development of recommendation systems, neural network optimization, evolutionary modelling, and the design of polymorphic cores with visualization of deep model development.
The presented works do not only have their practical value and a high level of technical implementation, but also their scientific novelty, which makes them of interest for further research and application in the professional field.
The candidates demonstrated an appropriate level of professional competencies, scientific and theoretical training, and practical knowledge in accordance with the requirements of the educational programme. Based on the results of the defences, the Examination Committee approved the awarding of the qualification of ‘Master’ in ‘Computer Science’ to 20 candidates.
May the achievement gained and the Master’s degree in Computer Science contribute to the successful employment and career advancement of our graduates.
