Curatorial hour: “Student Council – who are they and why do we need them?”

On November 19, 2025, a curator’s hour dedicated to the work of the student council was held for first-year students of the SEI USUCT. The meeting became a kind of guide to the world of student self-government and the opportunities it opens up.

Representatives of the Student Council told what the team lives for, what areas it develops and why participation in self-government can significantly affect student years. The communication turned out to be truly dynamic: participants actively asked questions, shared their expectations and were interested in the work of individual sectors.

The student council team presented the structure of the organization and explained that each sector is an opportunity to find yourself in one of the areas:

  • Scientific sector – support for student research, holding scientific events and popularizing educational initiatives.
  • Information sector – creation of photo and video materials, management of social networks and coverage of institute events.
  • Volunteer sector – participation in charity events, social projects and partnership initiatives.
  • Cultural and mass sector – organization of creative events, holidays, competitions and events that shape a vibrant student life.
  • Sports sector – competitions, tournaments and popularization of an active lifestyle.

The student council drew attention to the fact that anyone can join the work of any direction – it all depends on interests and desire to develop.

The curatorial hour helped the freshmen see that the university is not only about study pairs and tests. It is a place where you can initiate your own projects, find like-minded people, implement creative ideas and contribute to the development of the institute.

The Student Council emphasized: every student is important, and the team is always open to new participants and new ideas.

The staff of the SEI USUCT welcomes the freshmen to the large university community and invites them to join the work of the Student Council – together we create a modern, active and inspired student environment.
