On October 31, 2025, at the initiative of the Director of the SEI, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Prof. Olga SVERDLIKOVSKAYA and the Executive Secretary of the Selection Committee of the SEI USUCT, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. Margarita SKIBA, a career orientation excursion for students of the Lyceum No. 1 of the Dnipro City Council was held at the Educational and Scientific Institute “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology” USUCT.

The event consisted of two parts: practical laboratory work and a field trip to the “MOVA” brewery, where students were able to see the application of water treatment technologies in real production.

Before visiting the brewery, the schoolchildren, together with the administration of Lyceum No. 1 – director Natalia TKACHENKO, deputy directors Valentina KORYAKHOVA and Alyona FELOMEIKINA – took part in a laboratory lesson at the Department of Inorganic Substances Technology and Ecology on the topic “Water Treatment – ​​Taste of Drinking Water”.

The experimental part was prepared by representatives of the department: head of the department, Dr. Sc. in Engineering, Prof. Ihor KOVALENKO, Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Olena GRUZDEVA and Ph.D. in Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Oleksiy KHLOPITSKIY. Students enthusiastically performed experiments and learned how knowledge of chemistry helps to create modern technological products, as well as how water quality affects the properties and quality of the final product – from beverages to chemical and food products.

During the excursion to the MOVA brewery, students got acquainted with the processes of water preparation and brewing, learned about the technological stages of beverage production and the importance of quality control at every step.

The event left all participants with many positive impressions, inspiration and interest in science. We sincerely thank the administration of Lyceum No. 1 of the DMR for their cooperation, and the students for their activity, curiosity and sincere interest in the university.

Such meetings help future applicants make a conscious choice – to choose the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology (Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology) and build a successful professional future!
