On October 7, 2025, associate professors of the Department of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Technology of the SEI USUCT Olena Velychko, Dina Kytova and Ihor Yakymenko took part in the opening of the Chemistry Club at the IT STEP School. This event marked the beginning of fruitful cooperation aimed at popularizing chemistry among schoolchildren and introducing them to the opportunities for studying at the university.

As part of the event, the department’s teachers presented modern areas of scientific research, opportunities for studying at USUST, and held an exciting chemical show that aroused sincere admiration among students. This allowed schoolchildren not only to see the practical application of chemistry, but also to feel the atmosphere of scientific research and innovation.

On October 9, students of grades 10–11 of IT STEP School visited the SEI USUCT with a return visit. They got acquainted with the university museum, learned interesting historical facts and took part in a scientific quest. At the Department of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Technology, students conducted a series of experiments, identifying high-quality and adulterated food products, conducted reactions to determine components and investigated the effect of pH on the properties of substances and food products.

These events have become an important step in the university’s career guidance work, contributing to the formation of students’ interest in science and technology, as well as familiarization with the possibilities of further education at USUST.
