Staff members of our university took part in the competition of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine “Advanced Science in Ukraine 2026–2028”. Their submitted project No. 2025.07/0347 “Fundamental Principles for the Creation of Individual Implants for Military and Civil Medicine with Prolonged Antimicrobial Activity” won the competition, and its executors were awarded certificates from the NRFU.
The project will be implemented across several specialties, including G1 – Chemical Technologies and Engineering, G8 – Materials Science, and G22 – Biomedical Engineering. The main objective of the project is to create a team of specialists and a scientific and practical research base for a comprehensive solution to the problem of manufacturing personalized implant systems.
The solution to this task involves a комплекс of measures that will enable the development of a full roadmap: from analyzing computed tomography data of a damaged bone and creating an implant model to manufacturing the final product with an appropriate functional coating and performing surgical implantation with ensured long-term treatment outcomes.
Among the project participants are distinguished scientists from USUST and other institutions:
- Liliia Anatoliivna Frolova – (Project Leader) – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Inorganic Substances Technology and Ecology;
