From September 21 to 28, 2025, the World Rowing Championship was held in Shanghai (China). Among the strongest athletes in the world, a third-year student of the 3-FK-39 study group of the SEI USUCT, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in para-academic rowing Roman Polyansky, who on the sixth day of the competition, September 26, won a silver medal in the PR1 M1x class (men’s single rowing).

In the qualifying heat, Roman showed a result of 09:02.15, which allowed him to reach the final. In the decisive race, he again demonstrated a high level of preparation and finished second with a time of 09:02.74.

It is a great pride for our institute to see how a student combines studies with professional sports and reaches the peaks of the world level. Roman’s success is an example of strength, perseverance and indomitability for all students.
