A New Generation of Guides at the USUCT History Museum
On the eve of International Museum Day, celebrated annually on May 18, a traditional testing of new tour guides took place at the History Museum of SEI USUCT.
This year, their first excursion performances were presented by students Kseniia Lysenko (Faculty of F and BT) and Anastasiia Fitkovska (group 1-SOa-3, Faculty of EGP). The participants demonstrated confidence, substantive delivery of material, and genuine interest in the university’s history, successfully answering questions and interacting with the audience.
The tour guide competition is a well-established museum tradition formed in 2013. Since then, it has served not only an educational but also an enlightening function – helping students develop public speaking skills, critical thinking, and communication, while gaining a deeper understanding of their educational institution’s history.
The History Museum of USUCT serves as an important center for preserving institutional memory, combining educational, scientific, and upbringing components. It is through such initiatives that connections between generations of students are formed and the continuity of university traditions is maintained.
No winners were determined this time, as all participants demonstrated a worthy level of preparation and gained valuable practical experience that will become an important part of their professional development.
The tradition continues, and the museum remains a vibrant space for interaction, learning, and joint work of the university community.
