The Department of Higher Mathematics was founded in 1930 since the Institute (now SHEI Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology) was founded. In July 2009, based on the existing Department of Higher Mathematics, the Department of Computer Technologies and Higher Mathematics at the Faculty of Biotechnology, Computer Science and Engineering was founded. It was later renamed the Department of Information Systems in 2013. While reorganizing the faculty (August 2014), the Department of Higher Mathematics was taken from the Department of Information Systems, and now it is a part of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering.

The staff of the Department: 1 doctor of technical sciences, professor; 3 candidates of technical sciences, associate professors; 2 senior lecturers; 2 teachers, 1 engineer.
